Great group of 4 primitive Native American hand tools. Out of the Estate today come a group of primitive tools I acquired over the many years.I can only let their composition and condition speak for themselves. The group includes a maul or mallet head grooved for grip, forked wood handle or cords. Also, 3 different hand held scrapers or grinders. They are a very comfortable fit clasped into my hand and very easy to work with providing grinding or scraping not only on the bottom, but also on the short sides.
I cannot state what geological formation created the fused appearance between the upper hand grip and lower grinding stone. So, there are two stone grinders and then quite an oddity in a heavy piece of metal, perhaps from a rail track of some sort, which has the same comfortable grip and motion. How or where this was salvaged from I do not know. The mallet head measures 4-1/2" x 3" x 6-1/2 tall. The small stone scraper is 3" x 2-1/2" x 2-1/2", the larger stone is 4" x 3" x 3", and the metal tool is 3" x 2-1/2" x 2-1/2.This item is in the category "Antiques\Primitives".
