Antique Tooled Leather Photo Albums Early 1900's

  

Antique Embossed tooled leather Cartes de Visites (CDV). Photo albums from early 1900's. With Tintypes and Cabinet Cards. Very decorative working double clasp closures. The books have 4 glass cabochons front and back (two missing) and a embossed floral gold leaf edge in wonderful conditon on one book and well worn on the other.

Some of the tintypes are also hand tinted and all are portraits. Such wonderful craftsmanship and a lovely display of antique photographs! The elegant leather covers and spine feature thin gild outlines. The spine is especially attractive and intact on both books.

We dont know who the maker was but the inside cover page proclaims it to be a PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM in fancy red & gold calligraphy with gilded curly coos. There are 25 pages filled with a mix of mostly CDVs. Measures "6 1/4 x 5 1/4" x 2 1/2.
