I have used one of these handles for 15 years without any issues. This size is good for splitting and the sawn kerf in the eye makes wedging easy. This is a very nice Canadian ash handle 32 long. (88.4cm) - the eye end is 3 5/8. Back to the shoulder and 3/4" thick at the end (2 1/8" up and down) so it will wedge out to fill a good sized axe head.
It has a sawn kerf 1 3/4 long and is. For really aggressive wedging you should extend the saw kerf a little first. I recommend a softwood full wedge and a hardwood or metal small wedge at an angle across the end. Each handle has a nicely contoured nub on the grip end that makes the handle a pleasure to use. Some folks have been asking if I make these myself. The item "Canadian White Ash pole axe handles made in Nova Scotia 32 lot of 4 ltd. Ed" is in sale since Thursday, September 24, 2020.
